In today’s busy world, there are so many things that can distract us from our relationship with God. TV, Facebook, email, text messages, Twitter, iPods, iPads…the list stretches on. And that doesn’t even include all the places we have to go, meetings we need to attend, classes we have to register for, tasks we need to complete. It’s a never-ending list that continuously grows before allowing us a chance to cross anything off.
The topic for Day 4 of our journey deals with our relationships with God in light of moral standards.
We often think that as long as we are “good,” as determined by our personal guidelines, then we are in good standing with the Lord.
In actuality, we are only in good standing with the Lord if we are cultivating our relationship with Him. Only from that relationship are we able to discern what good plans He has for us to carry out.
By removing unnecessary distractions we can create an environment to get to know God. To learn about Him, learn about ourselves, and learn about what He wants for us.
